I thought I would kick off this blog with a shameful plug by telling you a little bit about who we are and what we do.
I'm Daniel Pressley and I am the company founder.
Growth Stream is a new brand name for my SEO and digital marketing consultancy. Previously, I've worked as sole trader and, more recently, under the official company name of Offshoot Consulting Ltd.
I have admin support in the background and so on. But, for the most part, if you hire Growth Stream's services it will be my face you see.
We're a digital marketing and SEO consultancy in Cardiff. We help people to grow their business by finding more customers online and by keeping them coming back. For most people, that starts with getting their website to the top of Google search results.
It might also mean improving how their website looks and works, plus how it communicates your marketing message.
In some cases, it might also involve things like social media and email marketing.
Basically, if it involves finding customers online, that's my bag and I'd love to help you with it.
As I see it, there are four ways I can help small businesses with their marketing. In practice, it's most likely to be a mix of 2-3 of them.
First is consulting. That means me coming into your place of work, or working remotely, and fixing a problem for you. Perhaps that means fixing your website or putting together an SEO strategy. It could mean many things, but it's basically me doing the work and maybe giving your in-house team instructions for additional tasks.
Second is coaching. In this scenario, I am not doing the work for you. Instead, I am talking you through the options and explaining how you might go about doing it yourself. You wouldn't need sessions like this day after day. It might be once a week or once a month.
Third is training. I can teach you and your staff how to do SEO and digital marketing for yourself. Or alternatively, I can teach you how to manage, lead or recruit the people who are going to do it on your behalf.
Fourth is guest speaking. This is probably only relevant to you if you're holding an event or hosting a podcast. To be clear: I am most definitely not a celebrity speaker and nobody is going to be asking me for a selfie. What I can do though is tell your audience what actually works for small businesses with a tight marketing budget. No abstract theory. No empty jargon. No BS. Just solid, actionable tactics which I have used successfully myself.
